When Frances first contacted me about their family photography session at Grand Hyatt Bali, I already knew it was going to be something fun and memorable. Usually, a family photoshoot means parents and children only. This time was different.
Frances was traveling with several families and close friends together. Their Bali holiday quickly turned into a big family gathering full of energy, laughter, and chaos in the best possible way.
Grand Hyatt Bali in Nusa Dua was the perfect place for it.
I always enjoy photographing at Grand Hyatt Bali because the resort has so many beautiful spots within walking distance. The tropical gardens, giant trees, open grass fields, and beach itself make it easy to create different vibes during one session. We did not need to travel anywhere else.
For their session, I recommended my 90 minutes family photography package. With a large group and many children involved, having extra time makes everything feel more relaxed. Nobody needs to rush, and the kids have time to warm up naturally in front of the camera.
We decided to start in the late afternoon, which is honestly my favorite timing for family photography at Grand Hyatt Bali. The light becomes softer, the weather feels cooler, and the atmosphere around the resort changes completely. Children also become more playful around this time, which always helps create natural photos.

At the beginning, the kids were still a little shy. Some sat quietly under the trees while others observed from a distance. After a few minutes, the energy completely changed.

I do not want sessions to feel too posed or overly formal. Especially for big family groups, the real memories are usually hidden between poses. The children running toward the camera, cousins playing together, parents laughing in the background, and everyone simply enjoying their holiday in Bali.
Grand Hyatt Bali gave us so many beautiful natural frames during the session. One moment we were under the massive tropical trees. A few minutes later, the kids were running freely along the beach with dramatic Bali skies behind them. The variety inside the resort makes it one of my favorite locations for family photography in Nusa Dua.

What I loved most about Frances and the whole group was how easygoing everyone was. Nobody tried too hard to create the “perfect” photo. They simply enjoyed spending time together, and that feeling naturally appeared in every image.
Family holidays like this do not happen every year, especially when several families and friends can travel together at the same time. That is why capturing those moments becomes so meaningful later on.
I am really happy Frances trusted me to document their time together at Grand Hyatt Bali. Seeing everyone laughing, running around, and simply enjoying the afternoon reminded me why I love family photography so much.
