Family Photographer in Kuta, Tuban & Legian Bali

Kuta, Tuban, and Legian are honestly some of the most popular spot in Bali for a family photoshoot. Wide sandy beaches, great sunset light, and everything is close together so you’re not spending half your holiday in a car getting to a location.

Kuta is the most well known of the three, and for good reason. The beach is wide, the sunsets are stunning, and there’s always a great atmosphere in the late afternoon. Tuban sits just to the south and tends to be a little quieter, which some families really appreciate, especially if you have younger kids and want a more relaxed shoot without too many people around. Legian is just north of Kuta and has a nice balance between the two, a bit more laid back but still with that same beautiful coastline.

Most families staying in this area are surprised by how easy it is to put together a session without disrupting their holiday. We usually start at your hotel or villa, then move down to the beach, so you get a mix of locations without going far at all.

When’s the Best Time for Your Photoshoot?

We offer morning and afternoon sessions, and both can produce really beautiful results. It mostly comes down to your family’s schedule and which kind of light you prefer.

Morning sessions may run from 6:30 to 8:00am. The beach is at its quietest, the air is still cool, and the light at that time of day is soft and flattering. If you have kids who are naturally early risers, this works out perfectly. Sessions in the morning move at a relaxed pace and usually wrap up before the beach gets busy and the sun gets too strong.

Afternoon sessions are best between 5:00 and 6:00pm. That golden hour light before sunset is really something special and one of the reasons so many families choose the afternoon slot. If you’d like a longer session of around 90 minutes, we can start at 4:30pm, beginning at your hotel or villa before heading down to the beach as the light starts to soften. It gives us more variety and a bit more breathing room so nothing feels rushed.

A Note on Afternoon Beach Sessions
For afternoon beach sessions, we offer an optional lighting assistant. Having an extra light source means we can keep faces looking bright and even as the sun drops lower, which gives the gallery a more consistent and polished feel from start to finish.
This is completely optional though. Plenty of families prefer to keep things simple and shoot entirely in natural light, and those sessions can look just as beautiful. There’s no right or wrong choice here, it really just comes down to personal preference and the look you’re after. Either way, we’ll make sure you go home with photos you love.

What Should We Wear?

This is one of the most common questions we get, and the short answer is keep it light and keep it simple. Colours like white, cream, beige, and soft pastels look really lovely against Bali’s beaches and tropical surroundings. They photograph cleanly and tend to give the whole gallery a warm, timeless feel. One thing to avoid is grey, it can look a little flat on camera, especially in bright conditions.

You don’t need everyone to wear the exact same thing. Coordinating your colours loosely usually looks more natural than matching outfits. Think along the same palette rather than the same outfit.

Take the Memories Home With You

Family holidays have a way of flying by faster than you expect. One moment you’re arriving at the airport, and before you know it you’re packing your bags to head home. The photos from your time together are what you’ll actually hold onto.

If you’re staying in Kuta, Tuban, or Legian, we’d love to be part of your Bali trip. Whether it’s your kids splashing around on the beach, a quiet moment with the grandparents, or just everyone together watching the sunset, we’ll make sure those moments don’t just disappear when the holiday ends.
