At Ocean Verve Villa in Labuan Sait, Uluwatu, I had the pleasure of photographing Martha’s family gathering in Bali. Before the session, I imagined I would be chasing little children around the villa and nearby beach. Instead, I was welcomed by a group of cheerful “big boys and big girls” who brought so much fun, laughter, and playful energy to the day.
Martha’s family had travelled from different locations and chose Bali as their gathering point. That already made the session feel meaningful from the beginning. In today’s busy world, it is not always easy for families to be together in one place. Everyone has their own schedules, work, and life in different cities or countries. That is why moments like this become even more valuable over time.
Ocean Verve Villa was a perfect location for the session. The bright modern interior, tropical atmosphere, and relaxed Uluwatu surroundings created a comfortable setting where everyone could simply enjoy being together.
What I loved most about this session was how natural everything felt. There was no pressure to pose perfectly. The family spent time laughing, teasing each other, and enjoying the moment together. Sometimes the best family photos happen when people simply feel comfortable being themselves.
During the session, I could clearly see the connection between them. Even though they came from different places, the warmth and closeness within the family felt very genuine. Those small interactions often become the memories people treasure most years later.
