This was my second time meeting Raphael and his family. We first met a few months earlier when I photographed them during their Bali holiday, so it was a real pleasure to be invited back and capture another special occasion together.
This time, Raphael brought together family and close friends for a relaxing stay at Balitri Villa in Sukawati, Gianyar. When I arrived, everyone was already enjoying a morning yoga session. The peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by tropical greenery and the villa’s beautiful architecture, created the perfect start to the day. While waiting for the session to finish, I captured a few candid moments that naturally reflected the calm energy of the morning.
Once yoga was over, the gathering quickly shifted into a fun and lively family photo session. Children played around the garden and pool area, friends shared stories and laughter, and family members simply enjoyed being together. Rather than focusing on heavily posed photographs, I documented the day as it unfolded naturally. These genuine interactions often become the most meaningful memories, and they are always my favorite moments to photograph.
One of the highlights of this session was the location itself. Balitri Villa is a spacious nine-bedroom private villa in Sukawati. Its design combines Balinese and Javanese architectural influences with industrial-inspired elements. Traditional textures, warm wooden details, exposed materials, and lush gardens blend beautifully throughout the property. The result is a setting that feels both elegant and welcoming.
Every corner of the villa offered a unique backdrop for storytelling. Some photographs were taken among tropical plants and garden spaces. Others captured larger group moments around the pool. The villa’s design complemented the relaxed atmosphere and helped create images that feel natural, timeless, and full of character.
