Family Photography at a Seminyak Villa & Petitenget Beach

I met Sherry and her family at their private villa in Seminyak, where we started the morning with a relaxed family photography session. The villa’s tropical gardens and peaceful atmosphere created a beautiful setting for natural portraits before heading to the beach.

After finishing at the villa, we continued the session at Petitenget Beach. The beach offered plenty of space for the family to walk, play, and enjoy the ocean together.

Their daughter loved exploring the shoreline and watching the waves. Rather than focusing on formal poses, I encouraged the family to interact naturally. This approach allowed me to capture authentic smiles, laughter, and connection throughout the session.

We arrived at the beach around 8:30–9:00 AM. By that time, the sun was already quite strong. The heat also increased quickly as the morning progressed. Many families underestimate how fast temperatures rise in Bali, especially near the coast. Strong sunlight often creates harsh shadows and causes children to become tired more quickly.

For the best experience, I usually recommend scheduling family photo sessions between 6:30–8:00 AM or 5:00–6:00 PM.

These hours provide softer light, cooler temperatures, and more comfortable conditions for young children. Families can enjoy the session without dealing with intense heat or bright sunlight.

This recommendation becomes even more important during Bali’s wet season, which typically runs from October through April. Humidity levels can be extremely high during these months. While photographers may be accustomed to the tropical climate, children often become sweaty and uncomfortable after spending too much time outdoors.

Choosing the right time helps everyone stay relaxed and enjoy the experience. Comfortable children are happier, and happy children create more natural and meaningful photographs.
